Domino Radio

Hieronder voeg
ik hun persbericht alvast toe :

Domino Radio commences transmission on June 6th 2011, for a week of non-stop music, conversation and good times. Featuring shows by Animal Collective, Hot Chip, Franz Ferdinand, No Pain In Pop, Bobby Gillespie, Optimo, Dirty Projectors, Frieze Arts, Robert Wyatt and many others.

Just in time for your weekend we've released an amalgamix featuring snippets of some the shows made especially for Domino Radio at dominorad.io.

LISTEN TO THE 88 MINUTE "AMALGAMIX"

First is a slice of Four Tet, recorded in our Brooklyn office featuring some stone cold classics and recent findings from the streets of New York. Next is Alexis Taylor and Jon Coxon (About Group) with their show about the late great Alex Chilton and everything you need to know about Memphis southern soul. Then onwards to Louth UK, where we take tea with Robert Wyatt & his wife Alfie playing the records they’re currently listening to, mostly jazz, but don’t think this is a narrow theme, as Robert says, "the whole world is in there somewhere."

Smith Westerns breezed, parted their fringes and pulled down the shades; we suggest you do too. Milo from Merok found his true radio voice and used it to deliver inspirational sermons from Wu Tang’s book Tao Of Wu between some of the finest modern sounds around. Milo wants you listen to his show while getting home on the night bus, so stay out late (but take a friend).

Steve Mason and Dennis Bovell talk about dub’s contribution to the population boom boom. Listen in to hear the great DB hit those Silly Games high notes. Faris Badwan visited with his little black box full of the seven inch sounds of the girls group greats. We were crying lightning!

We'll be broadcasting live on 87.7FM in London and online at http://dominorad.io. In the build-up to June 6th keep track of all of the various hits and happenings at twitter.com/dominoradio
