Lied van de week : week 45 - 2011

This I've heard - New Hands

Lyrics :

Life is full of farmers sowing gold

Where nobody will act just like you told them to

Where everybody’s pining to be groomed

Where nobody’s not dying just to read their tomb

Where history’s a game of telephone

Where nobody is yours until you take them home

Don’t need to agree, it’s not that, can’t you see?

Just listen

Life is full of farmers sowing gold

And nobody will act just like you told them to

And everybody’s dying to be groomed

And nobody’s not pining just to read their tomb

And history’s a game of telephone

And that girl’s not your girl until you make her moan

Don’t need to agree, I don’t care, can’t you see?

Just listen

This I’ve heard and this is what I said

I can’t take my voice if it’s not in your head

You can shed your tears but I won’t cry

I was afraid of death but no, machines don’t die

And I will kill a man if I am told

As orders are the only thing that makes me bold

And everyone’s full, or they’re running out

Except me, I’m incomplete

And they don’t care for what you want to show

As everything you’ve learned is just a thing to know

And you’ve been broken, burnt, now you’re between

Going all the way with them or coming clean

And honestly I’ve said it all so please

Place me on a pedestal or on my knees

Cause I can’t stand myself, ‘less I’m standing on you

And that’s the truest thing I’ve ever said
