Met The suburbs heeft Arcade Fire een prachtige opvolger geleverd voor Neon bible, een album dat hier nog regelmatig gedraaid wordt. Het bombastische element dat Arcade Fire in zijn muziek brengt, maakt dat hun songs uitgroeien tot epische muzikale vertellingen die je als luisteraar meeslepen en dan, als een tornado die plots gaat liggen, terugwerpen op de harde realiteit, met het besef dat er iets hogers en mooiers bestaat. Op hun nieuw album verbreden ze hun muzikaal spectrum, maar gelukkig blijven de kernelementen van Arcade Fire bewaard, en dat hoor je duidelijk in deze single.
