Dit klinkt als een mengeling van een speels muziekje en de soundtrack bij een oude horrorfilm, met die lage stem, het handgeklap, het gitaarintrootje en het orgeltje... The Cloud I'm Under is een New Yorkse muzikant van wie je nog meer liedjes hier kan beluisteren.
The Cloud I'm Under is the name this New York based musician goes by, and this song is sort of a mixture of a light pop song and a movie soundtrack for an old horror classic, having a combination of a low sounding voice, hand clapping, the guitar intro and the organ being played quite intimidatingly throughout the song. Misfits (mp3) - Lunar Youth
Er is iets vreemds aan de hand met dit nummer van Lunar Youth, waarbij de muziek heel erg jaren '80 klinkt en zo vertrouwd klinkt als alle eendagshitjes uit die periode, maar de stem klinkt dan weer heel erg jaren '90 en vooral heel erg indie, op de één of andere manier.
Musically, this song by Lunar Youth sounds as if it's a very familiar eighties pop song, but then again, the voice sounds more like the nineties to me, and very much indie (hard to explain why, but trust me, it does...)
I'd like to teach the world to sing (mp3) - The Fades
The Fades coveren dit nummer (bekend van The New Seekers) op een wel heel verrassende wijze. Waar het origineel vooral heel erg mellow klinkt, is dit een punkversie (nu ja, natuurlijk geen rauwe punk, maar toch...) Hou je dus maar stevig vast... !
The New Seekers made this song very famous, but whereas that was quite a mellow, true-hippie-style version, the one by The Fades has a lot of punk attitude to it, so hold on...
